Supporting the fight of the rhino with Tusk Trust

On September 22nd we will be celebrating World Rhino Day. As a member of the Mantis Collection, a group of luxury hotels and eco-scapes all over, that started almost 30 years ago with humble beginnings in South Africa – home to the majestic and, now, critically endangered rhino – we are a proud supporter of Tusk Trust.

To mark the day, Tusk Trust has collaborated with a number incredibly talented artists from all over the world to create a spectacular sculpture trail in central London and raise vital funds for the conservation of endangered African species. The trail, curated by Creative Director Chris Westbrook, features work from some of the world’s leading contemporary artists and designers including Marc Quinn, Harland Miller, Gavin Turk, The Chapman Brothers, Zhang Huan and Eileen Cooper.

The Tusk Rhino Trail runs until September 22. Find out more here: www.tuskrhinotrail.com

THE TUSK RHINO TRAIL

The 21 specially painted and embellished rhino sculptures all dotted around central London include one just a stone’s throw from the hotel on Sloane Square and another a short walk from us outside the entrance to Saatchi Gallery in Duke of York Square.

All 21 rhinos can be spotted and the trail followed with what3words location addressing. More details and maps are available online at tuskrhinotrail.com so do join the fun.

SUPPORTING INTERNATIONAL CONSERVATION

Rhino populations across Africa are in critical danger, threatened by a global poaching crisis. The illegal wildlife trade is now the fourth largest criminal industry in the world after drugs, arms and human trafficking.

Thanks to the actions of determined conservationists, governments and donors, some rhino population numbers are holding. But, globally, rhinos are in crisis and further action is needed to ensure that numbers can rise and that this species is not lost to extinction forever.

WANT TO SUPPORT THE CAUSE?

On every bed, in every room until the 22nd September we will place a small rhino teddy. If you would like to take it home to help spread the word simply let a member of staff know and a £10 charitable donation to Tusk Trust will be added to your bill.
