Front of House Manager celebrates 21 years at The Draycott Hotel

Dino Da Silva, our Front of House Manager, has been part of The Draycott team for 21 years. To celebrate this landmark birthday Dino has shared some of his fondest memories and finest moments.

1) What did you do before you joined The Draycott?

Before joining The Draycott in 1994 I was the Manager of a well-known Chinese restaurant in London where I stayed for 7 years.

2) What does your job involve?

I’m responsible for overseeing all front of house operations and make sure everything run smoothly. This is incredibly varied but the overall aim is to make sure our guests have the best experience possible whilst staying at The Draycott.

3) What’s your favourite part of the job?

I love meeting different people everyday but when guests approach me at the end of their stay to tell me they had a wonderful time and plan to come back – that’s really a really special moment.

4) What’s your fondest memory at The Draycott?

It’s hard to choose just one memory, as there’s been so many over the years. If I had to pick just one I would say it was when we had a wedding at the hotel and the groom forgot to collect the rings. I managed to get them for him at the very last minute – and his smile (and relief!) on his face is something I’ll never forget.

We also had another guest who, every time he went out for dinner, came back with takeaway for the staff. It’s just kind and thoughtful acts from guests that make The Draycott so special.

There are countless good memories and these always involve the guests – they make my job fun and rewarding – that’s what has kept me here for 21 years.
