Best of British: The Top Designers Set to Take London Fashion Week 2017 by Storm
As the capital prepares to host the hottest fashion event in London, we look to our home grown talent for the best designers to look out for this February.
Located in Sloane Square, one of the most stylish corners of the city, we at The Draycott Hotel appreciate timeless fashion and design. Perhaps it has something to do with the rows of designer shops on the nearby Sloane Street, or the lesser-known eclectic boutiques hidden just off the King’s Road? Maybe it is less about the place and more the inhabitants of this part of the city – from the effortlessly stylish to the more outlandish – that make us obsess about style? Either way, fashion, and in particular British fashion, is very much a part of Chelsea life.
For those staying at our 5 star hotel in Chelsea in February, looking to get the inside scoop on this year’s London Fashion Week schedule, we’ve put together a few of our favourite British designers for you to take note of before heading off into one of London’s most famous shopping destinations.
The likes of Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane and Vivienne Westwood are all staples in every style-savvy London Fashion Week attendee’s diary. But what new and exciting budding talents from our fair isle will we be looking out for this February?
A London-based womenswear designer, Clio launched in 2014 and has been hypnotising fashionistas with her talents ever since. Clio creates unique, easily identifiable pieces, in bold colours adorned with hand appliqués and illustrative embroidery. She has been featured in Grazia and Elle magazines and her exceptional items are sure to stand out from the crowd this season.
Slogan tees, mixed with modest hemlines and flaming red leather are expected at Wade’s show. This British-American designer has made London her home and promises a feast for the eyes at every opportunity. We can’t wait to see what she brings to the table in February.
Born in Leeds but based in London, Benson’s designs consist of fantastical prints and ladylike silhouettes of days gone by. This Modern Romantic has featured in the pages of Vogue and is absolutely one to watch this Fashion Week.
Born and raised in West London, Molly Goddard specialises in hand-pleating, smocking and crocheting. Her designs exude an ethereal essence, sourcing inspiration from party dresses and pretty ‘Sunday Best’ pieces, so look out for her nostalgic, coming-of-age ensembles in February.
Specialising in embellished womenswear and accessories, Manchester born but London based, Robertson studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Amie now creates pieces made from intricate, embellished fabrics paired with casual, modern silhouettes. Featuring in Love and Dazed magazines, this northern designer sets out to surprise.
Located in one of the most stylish parts of the capital, we are very much looking forward to seeing what delights London Fashion Week has to offer this season.
